Leaf Burning Incident | Zone 9 Around noon on Saturday, November 22, 2025, a BIS member noticed smoke coming from a neighbor’s yard and promptly notified Broadmoor Fire. Fire personnel responded immediately and discovered that the non-member homeowner had been burning leaves and other yard debris without the required permit. Mailbox Incident At roughly 5:30am on Friday Nov 14 th , a BIS member discovered a large amount of mail scattered near the intersection of Marland Road South and Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Road. The mail appeared to belong to residents living on or near Woodside Lane, just east of Nevada Avenue/Highway 115. While a few pieces had been opened, the majority remained intact. Graffiti Activity There have been recent incidents of graffiti on commercial buildings, though none were reported this past week. When graffiti is observed by BIS Officers, it is promptly painted over with spray paint.
