7/1 – 11:10 pm | Zone 2 – Berthe CircleÂ
Received a call from a BIS member stating she was awakened by her alarm sounding but did not know which area of the house had triggered it. The Officer arrived at 11:12 pm and observed no vehicles or individuals in the area. The exterior of the residence was checked with no signs of attempted entry. All doors and windows were found secure. The member was contacted by phone and reassured that no one was in the area and the residence appeared secure. Cleared at 11:30 pm.
7/2 – 10:30 pm | Zone 8 – Marland PlaceÂ
While patrolling the area, the Officer observed a suspicious vehicle backing out of a BIS member's driveway into the street before turning around. The vehicle was described as a newer-model light-colored Chevy Silverado with Colorado license plates, extremely dark tinted windows, a lowered suspension, low-profile tires, and chrome rims. Due to the dark window tint, the Officer was unable to determine the number of occupants. The exterior of the member's residence was checked, with no signs of attempted entry. All doors and windows were secure. The Officer cleared the residence at 10:39 pm, continued patrolling the area, but did not locate the vehicle again.
7/3 – Routine patrols completed – no reportable incidents.
7/4 – 9:00 pm | Zone 6 – Roxbury Circle
Received a call from a BIS member reporting fireworks to the south of the residence and expressing concern due to the extremely dry conditions. The BIS Officer advised the member that the area would be checked and that the Colorado Springs Police Department would be notified if the location of the fireworks could be determined. The Officer arrived at 9:05 pm and remained parked on Wakefield Drive for several minutes. No fireworks were seen or heard in the immediate area, although fireworks could be heard coming from east and south of Highway 115. The Officer checked several nearby streets, including Regency Drive and Huntington Place, but observed no fireworks activity. No additional calls were received, and the reporting member did not request a callback. Cleared at 9:30 pm.
7/5 – 12:00 am | Zone 7 – Hutton Lane
While patrolling the area, the Officer observed graffiti painted on a wall and wooden fence belonging to the Colorado Springs School. No vehicles or individuals were observed in the area, and no additional graffiti or property damage was located nearby. Photographs of the graffiti were taken, and the school was notified. Cleared at 12:10 am.
