5/25 – 12:24 pm | Zone 4 – Sycamore Street
A BIS Officer received a call from a BIS member reporting a suspicious male wearing all black and behaving strangely while walking through the area. The male was observed sitting in several residents' yards and was also seen throwing landscaping rocks into the street and stacking rocks he had found on one property.
The male was last seen walking toward the church near Pine Avenue and Woodburn Street, leading out of the BIS patrol area. While responding, the BIS Officer received a second call from another BIS member regarding the same individual. CSPD was contacted by the BIS Officer and/or one of the reporting members at approximately 12:36 pm. Information regarding the male and his last known location was provided to the CSPD call taker, who advised that multiple calls regarding the subject had also been received by CSPD.
The BIS Officer checked several streets in the area but was unable to locate the suspicious male. It appeared the individual had already left the area. No additional calls regarding the subject were received, and no further information was obtained. BIS is unaware of when CSPD may have arrived in the area.
The Officer cleared the call at 12:40 pm to respond to another member report in the El Encanto Drive area involving a younger male riding a dirt bike recklessly. The Officer later rechecked the Sycamore Street area but made no further contact with the suspicious male. The information was documented for future reference and information sharing.
5/25 – 12:40 pm | Zone 5 – El Encanto Drive
While handling the previous incident, the on-duty BIS Officer received a call from a member reporting a younger male riding a dirt bike recklessly in the area. The member attempted to speak with the rider, who became confrontational, prompting the member to contact BIS.
The BIS Officer notified CSPD of the reckless driving complaint. The CSPD call taker advised that several similar calls regarding the dirt bike rider had also been received. The Officer responded to the area and checked numerous streets but was unable to locate the rider. The Officer cleared the call at 12:45 pm.
Note: BIS has received several reports over the past few weeks involving younger individuals operating dirt bikes and motorcycles in a careless or reckless manner in and around the area. Members are encouraged to continue reporting these incidents to BIS so Officers can attempt to locate the riders, share information with CSPD, and help prevent potential injuries or property damage.
5/26 – 11:52 pm | Zone 6 – Star Ranch Road
While patrolling the area, a BIS Officer observed a suspicious vehicle parked between two roll-off dumpsters outside a member's closed business. The vehicle was described as a blue Dodge Ram pickup truck with an unknown license plate.
The truck was occupied by a white male in his 30s with brown hair and a brown beard, who was seated in the driver's seat. Also inside the vehicle was a white female in her 30s with long blonde hair. The vehicle departed the property before contact could be made.
The Officer conducted a thorough check of the area but observed nothing unusual where the vehicle had been parked. No damage to nearby businesses or property was found, and no evidence of criminal activity was observed. The Officer cleared the scene at 11:54 pm.
5/27 – 3:54 am | Zone 8 – Cheyenne Mountain Blvd
While patrolling the area, the BIS night-shift Officer observed an open garage door at a member's residence. This was unusual, as the garage door is typically closed during the early morning hours.
The Officer also observed a trash can that had been knocked over, with trash scattered inside and immediately outside the garage. Based on the scene, the Officer believed a bear may have accessed the trash and scattered its contents, although no bears were observed in the area at the time.
No suspicious persons or vehicles were seen nearby, and there were no signs of criminal activity. The Officer attempted to contact the homeowner both at the front door and by telephone but was unsuccessful. The Officer was unable to secure the garage door and cleared the incident at 3:59 am.
The residence was monitored periodically throughout the remainder of the night. The Officer also followed up with the members via email later that morning to advise them of his observations.
5/28 – Routine patrols completed. Nothing unusual reported.

5/30 – 1:17 am | Zone 6 – Childe Drive
The night-shift BIS Officer received a call from a member reporting that they had been awakened by their dogs barking and had heard suspicious noises outside their residence. When the member investigated, a darkly clad individual was observed on the sidewalk in front of the home. The individual appeared to be a tall male wearing a long dark coat. The member immediately contacted the BIS emergency number to report the incident.
The BIS Officer was already in the area and responded immediately, arriving at 1:18 am. No suspicious persons or vehicles were observed upon arrival. The Officer conducted a thorough exterior check of the residence and found no signs of unusual or criminal activity. All doors and windows were intact and secure. The Officer did observe signs of animal activity and footprints in the area surrounding the residence.
The Officer contacted the member by telephone to report his findings and documented the incident for future reference and information sharing. The Officer cleared the call at 1:24 am but continued to monitor the area throughout the remainder of the night.
5/31 – 12:39 am | Zone 7 – Lake Ave
The on-duty BIS Officer received a call from a member who was away from home regarding an alarm notification indicating that a family room window had been opened or disturbed.
The BIS Officer arrived at 12:45 am and noted that the alarm was not audible. No suspicious persons or vehicles were observed in the area. The Officer conducted a complete exterior inspection of the residence and found all doors, windows, and window screens to be secure and intact, with no signs of attempted forced entry.
The member was contacted by telephone at 12:52 am and advised that they had also reviewed their RING doorbell camera footage but observed no activity at the time of the alarm notification.
A CSPD Officer arrived at 12:54 am, and a second exterior inspection of the residence was conducted jointly by BIS and CSPD. No suspicious activity or evidence of criminal activity was discovered. Both Officers cleared the call at 1:05 am.
