8/10 – Routine Patrols

Routine patrols completed. No reportable incidents.

8/11 – 11:10 pm | Zone 2 – Fifth Street

The BIS Officer received a call from a member regarding loud motorcycles being driven in a nearby open area. The Officer responded and arrived at 11:15 pm. No motorcycles were observed in the field. The Officer remained in the area and listened in an attempt to locate them but was unsuccessful. It appeared the motorcycles had left the area.

While checking the field, the Officer observed two individuals, a WM and a WF, lying on the ground near the north end of the field. Both individuals appeared unimpaired and were not in need of assistance. The Officer advised them that they were on private property. Both were cooperative and left the area without incident.

The Officer cleared the call at 11:38 pm but continued to monitor the area for the possible return of the motorcycles. No further problems were observed or reported.

8/14 – 2:58 am | Zone 6 – Cheyenne Mountain Blvd

While patrolling the area, the BIS Officer observed a white GMC Yukon with Colorado plates parked in front of a member's closed business. The vehicle's lights were off, but the engine was running.

The Officer approached the vehicle and observed a WF in her 40s with blonde hair, wearing blue jean shorts and no shirt, and a WM in his 40s with short blonde hair and no clothing. Both individuals were in the back seat of the vehicle.

When contacted by the Officer, both individuals appeared unimpaired and were not in need of assistance. The Officer advised the couple that they were on private property and needed to leave. Both were cooperative and departed the property without incident.

8/15 – Routine Patrols

8/16 – 5:31 pm | Zone 7 – First Street

The on-duty BIS Officer received a call from a BIS member regarding a suspicious black Jeep with a trailer parked near the member's home, possibly within a marked "No Parking" area. The member advised that the vehicle had a placard on the dashboard reading "Hotel Parking Guest Pass" and asked whether the hotel issued such passes to guests.

The Officer contacted hotel security to determine whether guest parking placards had recently been issued and was informed that the hotel only issues parking passes for its parking garage.

The Officer responded to the reported location and arrived at 6:05 pm. A black Jeep Wrangler and trailer, both displaying Tennessee plates, were located parked and unoccupied, facing north on First Street. The Officer documented a complete description of the vehicle and trailer for future reference if needed.

The reporting member was contacted and advised that the Officer would report the vehicle through the GoCOS app as being parked in a marked "No Parking" area, which was determined to be the most appropriate and efficient reporting option.

The Officer cleared the call at 6:10 pm but continued to monitor the vehicle during the remainder of the shift until it later left the area.

8/16 – 8:25 pm | Zone 3 – Alsace Way at Cheyenne Road

The BIS Officer received a call from a member regarding a traffic hazard involving a truck stopped on Alsace Way just off Cheyenne Road. The vehicle was reportedly stopped in the traffic lane with no lights illuminated. It was unknown whether the vehicle was occupied and initially appeared that it might have been abandoned.

The Officer responded and arrived at 8:31 pm. A bronze/copper-colored Chevrolet Avalanche displaying Colorado veteran plates was found stopped in and blocking the traffic lane. The vehicle's headlights, taillights, and emergency flashers were not illuminated, and the engine was not running.

The vehicle was occupied by a WM with dark hair who appeared to be in his 30s and was wearing a white sleeveless shirt and blue jeans. The male was seated in the driver's seat but was slumped over the center console. The Officer observed that the male was breathing but was not awake. Two open beer cans were also visible inside the vehicle.

Due to the male's condition and the possibility that he was impaired by an unknown substance, the BIS Officer contacted CSPD at 8:33 pm. The Officer remained on scene to help protect passing motorists from the traffic hazard until three CSPD units arrived at 9:28 pm.

CSPD Officers made contact with the male, and the BIS Officer turned management of the incident over to CSPD. The BIS Officer cleared the scene at 9:45 pm.
