Officer Reports 8/3/26 to 8/9/26

8/3 – 11:14 pm | Zone 2 – Berthe Circle

Received a call from a BIS member advising that the home's burglar alarm had activated. The homeowner was unsure where in the residence the alarm had been triggered. The BIS Officer immediately responded and arrived at 11:21 pm. No vehicles or individuals were observed in the area. The Officer conducted a complete security check of the exterior of the residence. No signs of attempted forced entry, property damage, or other suspicious or possible criminal activity were observed. All doors and windows appeared intact and secure. The Officer made contact with the homeowner at the front door and advised them of the results of the security check. All was safe and secure. The Officer cleared the call at 11:40 pm.

8/4 – 5:34 am | Zone 6 – Childe Drive

The on-duty BIS Officer received a call from Advanced Alarm regarding a low-battery/motion-sensor activation associated with a family room door at a BIS member's residence. While responding, the Officer attempted to contact the homeowner by phone but received no answer and left a voice message. The Officer arrived at 5:40 am and made contact with the member at the front door. The homeowner advised that everything was fine inside the residence. The Officer cleared the call at 6:05 am.

8/4 – 8:49 pm | Zone 9 – Hermitage Drive

The night-shift BIS Officer received a call from a BIS member regarding a WM, approximately 20–25 years old, wearing a white polo shirt, black shorts, and a black baseball cap, who had appeared at the member's door soliciting pest-control services. The homeowner told the male to leave the property. The Officer arrived at 8:53 pm and immediately began checking the area for the solicitor. The Officer searched several nearby streets but was unable to locate the male. The reporting member was contacted and advised that the male was no longer observed in the area. The Officer cleared the call at 9:12 pm.

8/5 – 8:33 pm | Zone 8 – Marland Road

The BIS Officer received a call from a member regarding multiple suspicious vehicles parked near Pourtales Park. The member thought it was unusual for the vehicles to be parked at that location at that time of night but was unable to provide further descriptions. The Officer arrived at 8:51 pm, but the vehicles appeared to have left the area. The Officer checked numerous nearby streets but observed no vehicles matching the limited information provided and no unusual or suspicious activity. The reporting member was contacted and advised that the vehicles were no longer in the area. The Officer cleared the call at 9:05 pm.

8/5 – 9:45 pm | Zone 1 – Heather Drive

The on-duty BIS Officer received a call from a member reporting suspicious activity at a neighboring residence that was under construction. The member stated that no one should be at the residence at that time of night and reported seeing individuals with flashlights and multiple vehicles at the property.

The Officer responded and observed a Realtor sign posted at the residence. The Officer contacted the listed Realtor and was initially advised that no one should be at the property. Several vehicles were parked on the street, two of which displayed construction-company markings. The Officer then contacted a HM in his mid-20s, with a thin build and wearing a long blue shirt, who was standing next to a white Honda sedan parked at the residence. The male appeared nervous and advised the Officer that he did not speak English.

While attempting to obtain additional information from the male, the Officer received a follow-up call from the Realtor/owner advising that workers were authorized to be at the residence and that the after-hours work had been planned. The Officer contacted another worker, who advised that they had finished working for the evening. The workers subsequently left the property. The reporting member was contacted and advised that the workers were legitimately at the residence, had completed their work, and had left the property. The Officer cleared the call at 9:55 pm.

8/5 – 10:58 pm | Zone 2 – Fourth Street

Received a call from a BIS member reporting a suspicious vehicle with its engine running parked across the street from the member's residence. The BIS Officer responded and arrived at 11:06 pm. The Officer located the occupied vehicle and contacted a WM seated in the driver's seat. The male was described as being in his 30s–40s, with a heavy-set build and black beard, wearing a blue hat and checkered shirt.

The male stated that he was waiting to pick up his girlfriend, who was working at The Broadmoor. The Officer contacted hotel security, but they were unable to verify the information provided regarding the female employee. Because the vehicle was legally parked, the Officer monitored the vehicle and driver for several minutes before resuming patrol. The reporting member was contacted and advised of the Officer's findings. The Officer cleared the call at 11:20 pm.

Upon checking the area again approximately 30 minutes later, the Officer noted that the vehicle had left the location. A complete description of the vehicle and driver was documented in the Daily Log for future reference if needed.

8/6 – 9:47 am | Zone 5 – Sequoyah Road

The BIS Officer received a call from a member regarding a male who appeared to be sleeping in a vehicle near the member's residence. The vehicle was described as an older-model black sedan with a white hood and tinted windows. The Officer was aware of a road-construction crew working in the immediate area and had observed numerous construction-related vehicles there earlier while on patrol.

The Officer responded and arrived at 10:06 am. Upon arrival, the described vehicle and the road-construction crew were no longer in the area. The Officer patrolled the surrounding streets but observed no suspicious vehicles or individuals matching the description

provided and detected no unusual activity. The Officer attempted to contact the reporting member but received no answer and left a voice message. The Officer cleared the call at 10:10 am. No additional calls regarding suspicious vehicles in the area were received by BIS.
