Officer Reports 8/31/26 to 9/6/26

8/31 – Routine patrols completed – no reportable incidents.

9/1 – 9:44 am | Zone 5 – Loma Linda Drive

Received a call from a member reporting that a bullet hole had been discovered in a garage window. The BIS Officer arrived at 10:48 am and was shown the damaged window by the member. The Officer observed that the hole appeared to have been caused by a bullet.

The member stated that several days earlier, a loud boom resembling a gunshot had been heard but was thought at the time to possibly be thunder. Nothing inside the garage appeared to have been struck or damaged by the bullet. The member believed the damage may have resulted from an accidental discharge somewhere in the neighborhood and did not wish to report the incident to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

The incident information was documented by BIS. The Officer cleared the call at 11:00 am.

9/2 – 12:30 am | Zone 6 – Star Ranch Road

While patrolling the area, the BIS Officer observed a silver four-door Chevrolet sedan with out-of-state license plates parked at a member’s closed business. The vehicle’s engine was running and its headlights were on.

The Officer initiated contact and observed a WF, approximately 30–40 years old, with short dark hair and wearing a dark shirt, inside the vehicle. A WM, also approximately 30–40 years old, with short blond hair, black glasses, and wearing a blue shirt, was also inside the vehicle. Both individuals were partially clothed but did not appear to need assistance or to be impaired.

The Officer advised the couple that they were on private property after business hours and requested that they leave the premises. They complied and left without incident. The Officer cleared the scene at 12:35 am.

9/3 – 9:31 am | Zone 9 – Colonnade Court

The on-duty BIS Officer received a text message from an alarm company regarding an alarm at a member’s residence indicating a breach of the home’s front door. The Officer immediately responded and arrived at 9:40 am.

Upon arrival, the Officer noted that the alarm was not audible and made contact with the housekeeper at the front door. The housekeeper advised that the alarm had been activated after the alarm code was entered incorrectly. The residence was determined to be safe and secure. The Officer cleared the call at 9:43 am.

9/4 – Routine patrols completed – no reportable incidents.

9/5 – 5:00 pm | Zone 6 – Broadmoor Valley Road

While on patrol, the BIS Officer was contacted by a HM who reported that his white Audi SUV had been damaged sometime during the day when someone threw a rock through the driver’s-side window. The male reported that nothing appeared to have been taken from the vehicle and that he had no suspect information or description.

Due to a language barrier, communication with the male was somewhat difficult. The Officer advised him to file a report with the Colorado Springs Police Department. The Officer then checked the surrounding area and observed no other damaged vehicles in the vicinity. The Officer cleared the call at 5:20 pm.
