9/8 – 8:20 PM | Zone 6 – Cheyenne Mountain Blvd

While patrolling, a BIS Officer discovered a suspicious vehicle (possibly abandoned) on private property. The silver Nissan Altima with Colorado handicapped plates appeared to have been left for several days and contained trash throughout. BIS will monitor and recommend that the property owner have it towed if not moved within a few days

9/9 – No Incidents Reported

9/10 – 3:58 AM | Zone 6 – Cheyenne Mountain Blvd

While patrolling, a BIS Officer found graffiti on a dumpster and the back wall of a business. No one was observed on the property. Photos were taken and sent to property management. It is unknown if the graffiti is gang-related. BIS will increase patrols and recommended the owner remove or paint over the graffiti to discourage further tagging.

9/10 – 8:37 AM | Zone 1 – Mesa Ave

BIS Officer received a burglar alarm notification from a commercial member’s alarm company reporting multiple alarm zones activated. The Officer arrived at 8:48 AM and conducted an interior search, contacting several employees. The alarm was determined to be caused by an employee failing to enter the code quickly enough. No suspicious persons or evidence were found. Call cleared at 8:49 AM.

9/10 – 8:00 PM | Zone 1 – Cheyenne Road

BIS Officer responded to a garage motion alarm reported by Advanced Alarm at a non-BIS member’s residence. Concerned about possible impact on nearby member properties, the Officer checked the exterior and garage area and found all secure, with no signs of forced entry or suspicious activity. No homeowner contact information was available. Call cleared at 8:21 PM and flagged for Chief follow-up.

9/11 – No Incidents Reported

9/12 – 3:15 AM | Zone 6 – Star Ranch Road

During patrol, a BIS Officer observed graffiti on the front door and window of a closed business. No suspicious persons or vehicles were seen. Photos were sent to property management. The graffiti matched the color and design found on September 10 along Cheyenne Mountain Blvd. Management will report the incident to CSPD. BIS will provide extra patrols and continue monitoring.

9/13 – 8:06 PM | Zone 6 – Kincaid Court

A BIS member reported a suspicious maroon hatchback parked across the street with its parking lights on and at least one occupant inside. The BIS Officer arrived at 8:22 PM and found a maroon Subaru Impreza with Colorado plates and dark tinted windows occupied by two people. Both individuals, a white male and white female in their late teens/early 20s, were courteous and watching live boxing on Netflix. The reporting member was updated and reassured. Call cleared at 8:26 PM.

9/13 – 8:28 PM | Zone 8 – Pourtales Road

BIS Officer responded to an ADT report of an audible carbon monoxide alarm at a BIS member’s residence. The ADT operator also contacted the fire department. BIS arrived at 8:37 PM alongside CSFD; the Broadmoor Fire Department and CSPD were already on scene for an unrelated call. The fire department found no carbon monoxide. The member advised that Colorado Springs Utilities would inspect gas appliances. Call cleared at 9:00 PM.

9/13 – 9:42 PM | Zone 10 – Penrose Blvd

While on patrol, a BIS Officer was flagged down by a member reporting a vehicle break-in at a non-member’s house. The Officer arrived at 9:55 PM and learned that a guest’s vehicle window had been broken and a bag containing personal identification stolen. The guest had already gone to CSPD to report the theft. No suspect or vehicle description was available, and the break-in time was unknown. The Officer had patrolled the area earlier without noting anything suspicious. No other similar incidents were reported. Call cleared at 10:05 PM.

9/14 – 1:30 AM | Zone 6 – Star Ranch Plaza

During patrol, a BIS Officer found additional graffiti on several windows, back doors, dumpsters, and utility boxes of closed businesses. The tags matched the style and color of graffiti from earlier incidents on Cheyenne Mountain Blvd. and at this location. No suspects or vehicles were observed. Photos were sent to property management, which has reported the incidents to CSPD and shared security footage showing two possible suspects—males in their teens to early 20s wearing gray hoodies and face masks—at approximately 11:25 PM. The images were not clear enough for identification. BIS remains on alert. Call cleared at 1:45 AM.
