6/9…7:53 pm…Zone 10…El Pomar Road: BIS Officer received a call from a BIS member about a male sleeping in the bushes near the member's driveway. BIS officer arrived at 7:59 pm and found a WM in his 30’s, wearing black shorts, orange Polo shirt and white tennis shoes asleep in the bushes. The BIS Officer was able to wake the male, who stated he had been out hiking and decided to take a nap. The male did not appear to be homeless or in need of any assistance. No impairment was observed. The male informed the Officer that he was staying with some friends who lived just a few blocks away. The male proceeded to walk to his friend's house and the Officer cleared the call at 8:15 pm.
6/9…11:06 pm…Zone 6…Cheyenne Mountain Blvd: BIS Officer observed two vehicles parked with engines running outside a member's closed business. The Officer contacted the driver of one vehicle who was a WF in her 30s, with long blonde hair. Accompanying her was a WM also in his 30s, with long black hair and a BM (age unknown) in the backseat wearing a hat and long sleeve white shirt. The Officer had a short conversation with the three individuals but did not observe any suspicious activity. All were advised that the business was closed, and they would need to leave since they are on private property. The BM exited the vehicle and left in the second vehicle. Both vehicles exited the property with no issues. The officer cleared the scene at 11:15 pm.

6/13…5:05 pm…Zone 7…Broadmoor Ave and 7th street: BIS Officer received a call from a BIS member reporting a suspicious vehicle parked on 7th Street and Broadmoor Ave. The suspicious vehicle was described as a small U-Haul truck. The BIS Officer arrived at 5:16 pm and located the U-Haul truck. The truck was unoccupied and was legally parked on the street. It bore Arizona plates. The reporting member called the BIS Officer a second time at 5:25 pm and provided more details to the Officer about the suspicious nature of the vehicle. The member reported that the truck had been parked at the same location on and off all day. Also, earlier - at 3 am this morning - the truck was seen on the member's Ring camera and a male wearing a head lamp light was observed walking into the member's yard and driveway area. Immediately following that conversation with the member, the Officer received a call from another BIS member reporting this same vehicle and male. The second reporting member stated they spoke with the male and advised that the suspicious male began talking about nuclear war with Russia and China. BIS Officer conducted a search but was unable to locate the male associated with the U-Haul truck in the area. The BIS Officer contacted CSPD and passed on the information about the suspicious male and truck. BIS Officer continued patrol but returned to the area intermittently to monitor the truck and attempt to locate the male.
6/13…7:34 pm…Zone 7…7th street: BIS Officer noticed a small U-Haul truck and a male standing by the passenger door. The male was observed to be a WM in his late 20s/early 30s, 6’ tall, 150 lbs., wearing dark blue pants and a blue shirt. The male had shoulder length curly black hair. The Officer contacted the male who stated he had been driving around the area for about four hours. The male advised he did not live in the area and that he was from Kansas City. The suspicious male was not acting nervous while the Officer talked to him. No other indicators of potential criminal behavior were exhibited by the male. The BIS Officer parked on 6th street to continue to observe the vehicle and male. After a few minutes the male got into the U-Haul truck and drove off, leaving the area. No other calls were received regarding the suspicious vehicle and male. It is unknown if CSPD arrived in the area. Officer contacted one of the reporting members from earlier to inform them the male and vehicle were gone. Officer logged the vehicle and male description for future reference and cleared the call at 8:18 pm. BIS Officers monitored the area the remainder of the night.

6/15…1:45 am…Zone 4…Sycamore Street: While patrolling the area, a BIS Officer found numerous items scattered about on the street. Items included a flat screen TV and several automotive textbooks/manuals. No vehicles or individuals were observed in the area. More items including books, binders and clothing were also found in the street on Alsace Way. The BIS Officer also discovered some mail belonging to an address on Platte Avenue. Unknown if the items were intentionally or accidentally deposited on the street. The mail was turned over to the Post Office. Items were reported to CSPD Community Services for retrieval and return or disposal.
