5/2…7:45 am…Zones 4 and 10…Strickler, Sanford and Penrose: A non-member resident notified BIS Friday morning after personal items were stolen from their vehicle, which was parked in their driveway in front of their garage. The resident provided video footage capturing footage of one of the suspects.
Later Friday afternoon, a Broadmoor-area resident posted a video on the Nextdoor app showing two armed individuals with handguns drawn approaching a home, while a third suspect searched a car parked in front of the garage. A fourth suspect waited in a vehicle on the street. BIS subsequently posted a Community Alert regarding this incident.
Shortly after the Community Alert was sent, a third Broadmoor-area resident shared a photo with BIS of an armed individual walking up their driveway towards their home. A second Community Alert was then posted Saturday morning.
The videos and photos from all three homeowners clearly show the same suspects involved in each incident, which took place between 3:00 AM and 3:30 AM on Thursday morning May 1st.
The only known detail about the suspects is that they were driving a dark-colored four-door sedan. One suspect was wearing bright white sneakers, while another was seen in a heavy down puffy jacket. Our Chief of Security, Mark Trostel, is actively working with CSPD on this matter. CSPD is investigating whether these incidences are connected to the individuals involved in the Community Alert sent out on February 23rd. We will update members as soon as more information becomes available.
