4/21…3:39 am…Zone 5…Lake Avenue and Old Broadmoor Road: While patrolling the area, the BIS Officer came upon a traffic crash involving a black Lexus ES300 sedan with CO plates. The vehicle was stuck on the Southeast area of the roundabout where it came to rest after it appeared to have struck the curb. The vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage. No driver or other persons were at the scene. The BIS Officer notified CSPD at 3:43 am and a CSPD Officer arrived at 3:54 am. The CSPD conducted the crash investigation and noted that the vehicle was not blocking the lane of traffic, so it was only tagged by CSPD and would be towed in 72 hours if not moved prior. BIS Officer cleared the crash scene at 4:06 am.
4/22…4:09 am…Zone 3…Bear Paw Lane: Received a call from Advanced Alarm regarding a burglar alarm at a member’s home. The BIS Officer arrived at the member's residence at 4:12 am. En route, the Officer did not observe any suspicious vehicles or individuals in the area. The exterior of the house was thoroughly checked by the BIS Officer. No signs of attempted entry or property damage were observed. The Officer did note one window on the upper floor was partially open. The BIS Officer made contact with the owner’s son who was inside the home. Nothing unusual was noted inside the house. False alarm. Member notified by the BIS Officer. The officer cleared the call at 4:25 am.
4/23…10:48 am…Zones 1…Mesa Ave: While patrolling, a BIS Officer was flagged down by two members reporting an audible alarm sounding at a nearby residence. The Officer responded to the nearby residence and checked the exterior. The Officer did not observe any signs of possible forced entry into the residence. During the check of the property, the BIS Officer did find three smoke detectors in the back of a truck parked on the property. One of the smoke alarms was actively emitting a loud audible signal. The Officer removed the battery from the alarm to silence it. The Officer attempted to contact the homeowners but was unable to notify them of the incident. The officer cleared the call at 11:10 am.
4/24…3:11 am…Zone 6...Star Ranch Road: While patrolling, the BIS Officer contacted a homeless appearing WM sleeping in front of a closed business. Male was wearing several layers of clothing and was carrying a duffle bag. The homeless male was advised about trespassing and was directed to leave the property. The male complied. The officer cleared the call at 3:15 am.
4/24…9:00 pm…Zone 8…Cheyenne Mountain Blvd: Received a call from a BIS member regarding a suspicious older model, tan Honda Odyssey, unknown plates, occupied 2X and was seen taking pictures of numerous houses in the area. Member described the driver of the vehicle as a WM or HM, possibly in his 20’s, and one female passenger. The member reported that when it appeared the driver saw the member watching them, the driver sped off at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was reported as last seen going towards Old Stage Road. The BIS Officer checked the area but was unable to locate and possibly contact the vehicle. No other calls regarding this suspicious vehicle were received. Officer continued to monitor the area throughout the night. The officer also logged the information and descriptions for future reference and sharing with all BIS Officers.

4/27…2:50 am…Zone 8…Crossland Road: While patrolling the area, the BIS officer observed a WM, age approximately mid-30s, wearing all black clothing, walking West on Crossland Road. The Officer also observed a nearby member’s garage door open with lights on inside. The pedestrian male approached the BIS patrol vehicle, and the Officer made contact. The man stated he lived near Old Stage Road. After talking with the male for a few minutes, the Officer was able to verity which house and street the male lived on. At the conclusion of the conversation, the male, a non-member, continued walking toward Old Stage Road. The BIS officer then contacted the nearby member/homeowner with the open garage door, and it was determined nothing was disturbed or taken from the garage or the vehicles parked inside. The member secured the garage door, and the Officer cleared the incident at 3:22 am.
