4/20 – 12:14 pm | Zone 1 – Mayhurst Ave

The on-duty BIS Officer received a call from a member regarding video footage captured on the member's camera system of a suspicious WM with white hair and a white beard, carrying a backpack and bedding. The male appeared to be homeless, as he was carrying camping items and wandering around the exterior of the house. The incident occurred earlier in the morning at 4:45 am. The member reported that the WM made no attempt to enter the house and continued walking, leaving the member's property. The Officer logged the information and suspect description for future reference and for information sharing with all BIS Officers. No other calls regarding the potentially homeless male disturbing other members were received by BIS.

4/22 – 5:42 pm | Zone 8 – Mirada Road

The Officer received a call from Advanced Alarm Company regarding an alarm activation involving an audible alarm related to a SE window of a member's residence. The BIS Officer immediately responded and arrived at 5:55 pm. The members were home and were contacted by the Officer. The homeowners advised that the alarm sensor had a technical malfunction which activated the alarm. All was secure at the residence. Officer cleared the call at 6:02 pm.

4/23 – Routine patrols completed – no reportable incidents.

4/24 – 4:35 pm | Zone 10 – Plainview Road

While on patrol, the BIS Officer received a call from the daughter of a BIS member regarding a telephone call she had received from CSPD related to the police response and detention of an unknown female who had thrown rocks at the front and rear of her parents’ residence, causing damage to two windows earlier in the afternoon. No description of the female was provided.

At 5:10 pm, the BIS Officer received a call from a CSPD Officer regarding the suspicious female. The CSPD Officer requested assistance from BIS regarding any information BIS had or any prior contact with the female earlier in the day. No calls were received by BIS, nor was any contact made with the female by BIS.

The CSPD Officer further advised that the female, who was in custody, had also attempted to enter another nearby residence on Plainview Road; however, no entry was made. The female was likely to be charged with criminal mischief.

The BIS Officer logged all information for future reference. Extra patrols were established to monitor the members’ residence until the broken windows could be repaired. It was noted that the detained female had no known relationship to anyone on Plainview Road and that the damage and attempted entry appeared to be random acts. The female appeared to possibly be unstable or impaired by alcohol or drugs. Officer cleared the call at 5:20 pm.

4/25 – Routine patrols completed – no reportable incidents.

4/26 – 12:25 pm | Zone 10 – Leaming Road

The BIS Officer received a call from ADT Security/Alarm Company regarding an audible alarm sounding at a member’s residence. The alarm was reported as a general burglar/motion detection alarm. The BIS Officer immediately responded and arrived at 12:34 pm.

Upon arrival, it was noted that the alarm was not audible. The members were not home, and no suspicious persons or vehicles were observed in the area. A complete security check of the residence perimeter was conducted. No signs of attempted entry or damaged or missing property were observed. All doors and windows were checked and found to be intact and secure.

The Officer noted that very high winds were present in the area at the time of the alarm. As the BIS Officer was completing the security check, two CSPD officers arrived at approximately 12:39 pm and also checked the exterior of the residence. Information was exchanged with CSPD, and the BIS Officer cleared the call at 12:42 pm.
