2/16 — Routine patrols completed – no reportable incidents.
2/17 — 12:35 am | Zone 4 — Strickler Road
BIS Officer received a call from a BIS member reporting that outdoor motion-detection lights on the garage were repeatedly activating and shutting off, indicating possible activity outside the residence. The Officer arrived at 12:42 am and monitored the area for suspicious vehicles or individuals; none were observed. A complete exterior check of the residence was conducted. No signs of attempted entry, property damage, or criminal activity were observed, and no individuals were located on the property. All was secure. The member was contacted by phone and advised that the residence and surrounding area were secure. Officer cleared the call at 12:48 am.
2/17 — 9:45 pm | Zone 5 — El Encanto Drive
The on-duty BIS Officer received a call from a BIS member who was en route home reporting that a residence alarm had been activated. The alarm was identified as a living-room motion detector. The Officer arrived at 9:52 pm and contacted the homeowners, who were waiting in a black SUV parked in front of the residence. While conducting an exterior check, Advanced Alarm Company contacted the Officer at 10:02 pm regarding the alarm activation. A full exterior inspection revealed no signs of attempted entry, property damage, or missing property. All doors and windows were secure. The Officer then conducted a complete interior check with the homeowners; no persons were located inside and nothing appeared disturbed. Officer cleared the call at 10:20 pm.
2/18 — 11:26 pm | Zone 7 — Broadmoor AveWhile patrolling the area, a BIS Officer observed an open garage door at a member’s residence. Due to the late hour, the Officer considered the open garage door suspicious and contacted the homeowner at the front door. No suspicious vehicles or individuals were observed in the area, and nothing appeared disturbed inside the garage. The member closed the garage door. Officer cleared the incident at 11:30 pm.
2/19 — 2:45 am | Zone 6 — Cheyenne Mountain Blvd
While patrolling the area, a BIS Officer observed a white Honda Odyssey minivan with Colorado temporary license plates parked behind a member’s closed business with the engine running. The vehicle was occupied, and the Officer made contact with a white female with black hair, approximately in her 40s–50s, seated in the driver’s seat. The female stated she was waiting for a friend to pick her up and needed to go to the hospital. The Officer offered to call for an ambulance or other medical assistance; the female declined. She did not appear to be in distress and left the property without incident. The Officer noted this same individual had previously been contacted at this location and advised that overnight parking during non-business hours was not permitted.
