The BIS Officer responded and spoke with the contractor at 1:30 pm. It was determined that power tools and batteries were taken, and the theft had already been reported to CSPD. The Officer checked member residences in the area and observed nothing unusual. There were no signs of attempted break-ins, thefts, or property damage to any member properties. The BIS Officer arrived at 8:50 pm and observed a black Subaru Crosstrek with Colorado plates legally parked and unattended. Nothing unusual was observed inside the vehicle. The Officer checked several nearby streets and did not observe any individuals acting suspiciously or appearing to be associated with the vehicle.
Officer cleared at 9:10 pm but continued to monitor the area. While patrolling later at approximately 11:30 pm, the Officer noted the vehicle was no longer present.
12/20 – 3:04 am | Zone 8 – Marland Road
While on patrol, a BIS Officer observed a suspicious vehicle on a member’s property driving up the driveway and leaving the residence. The vehicle was described as a silver, older-model four-door SUV, possibly a Honda CR-V. The vehicle did not display a front license plate but had a visible rear Colorado plate, which was recorded. The Officer also noted dark tinted windows and a noticeable exhaust leak, with the muffler or tailpipe hanging low.
The Officer exited the marked BIS patrol vehicle and attempted to contact the driver, described as a white male in his 20s–30s with black hair and a full beard. The driver did not stop. Due to the dark tinted windows, the Officer was unable to obtain additional details or observe items inside the vehicle. No other occupants were observed.
After passing the Officer, the vehicle accelerated and turned westbound onto Marland Road South. The Officer then checked the member’s property, including several outbuildings, and found no signs of attempted criminal activity, theft, or property damage. The Officer searched Marland Road South and several side streets up to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Road and Old Stage Road but was unable to locate the vehicle again.
The vehicle and driver description were logged for future reference and information sharing with BIS Officers and CSPD, if needed.
Officer cleared at 3:27 am.
