10/28 – 12:40 am | Zone 9 – Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Road
BIS Officer received a call from a member regarding a suspicious vehicle that pulled into the member’s driveway for a few minutes before turning around and leaving. The vehicle was described as an older-model tan Subaru with unknown license plates and an unknown number of occupants. The BIS Officer responded and arrived at 12:46 am. The Officer checked surrounding streets but did not locate the vehicle. No additional calls regarding this suspicious vehicle were received. The Officer cleared the call at 12:59 am and continued to monitor the area for the remainder of the night.
10/28 – 2:40 pm | Zone 3 – Bear Paw Lane
A BIS Officer was flagged down by a non-member who resides on Rainbow Place. The reporting person advised that some items had possibly been abandoned by a homeless person near an electrical box in that area. The non-member also mentioned that two vehicles had been broken into on Trout Avenue and Rainbow Place earlier in the week. The BIS Officer checked the area near the electrical box and located a red backpack along with various clothing and blankets. The Officer searched for any possible homeless individuals or suspicious persons but did not locate anyone. No additional calls regarding homeless persons or vehicle break-ins were received. BIS Officers do occasionally encounter homeless individuals in this area and will continue to monitor the location. The abandoned items were reported to the CSPD Homeless Outreach Team.

10/30 – 10:40 pm | Zone 7 – Lake Avenue
A BIS Officer observed a vehicle parked at a closed BIS member business. The vehicle was a silver Cadillac Escalade with Colorado plates. It was unoccupied, with the driver’s side window open and the vehicle unlocked. A cell phone and other personal items were visible inside. The Officer checked the property and surrounding area but did not locate anyone associated with the vehicle. The Officer cleared the scene at 10:50 pm and continued to monitor the vehicle and area throughout the shift until the vehicle left the location later that night.
