Officer Notes 3/4/24 to 3/10/24

3/4…3:47pm…Zone 9…Marland Road South: Received a call from the alarm company about a residential burglar alarm at a BIS member’s property. The BIS officer arrived at 3:51 pm. Alarm was not audible from the outside. Checked exterior doors and windows and all were secure. No sign of forced entry. The member was called, and the officer left a message. The BIS officer cleared the area at 4:00pm.

 

3/4…6:07pm…Zone 1…Cheyenne Road: BIS officer received a call about a fire in Cheyenne Canyon. The BIS officer arrived in the area at 6:27pm. CSPD and CSFD were on the scene. No visible fire or smoke was noticed. BIS officer came back to the area at 7:37 pm and CSPD were still on scene with one homeless male in custody for starting a fire to get warm in one of the picnic areas.

 

3/5…12:20pm…Zone 1…Maple Ave/2nd Street: While on patrol, the BIS officer observed a suspicious vehicle driving slowly through the area which was a Red Dodge Caravan with CO plates. Officer observed a Hispanic female 50/60 years old wearing a plaid jacket, black pants and black boots, exit the vehicle and go to a member’s door. The female left a door tag/advertisement on the member’s door to which the officer left his vehicle and approached the woman while she was on the member’s property.  The officer advised her not to enter BIS member’s properties. Female took a picture of BIS yard sign and sent it to other solicitors in the area. Officer clear at 12:26 pm.

 

3/5…3:23pm…Zone 6…Star Ranch Road: The BIS officer noticed a suspicious vehicle while on patrol which was a gold Honda Odyssey minivan with CO plates.  All the windows were covered with blankets. Occupants inside the van were told they could not park/sleep on the property. Vehicle left the area.  

 

3/6…8:58am…Zone 2…Polo Pony Drive/Red Wing Terrace: Received a call from a member about a disturbance involving an older white male with dog who was yelling at the reporting party. The cell phone call was lost before the officer could get any more information. The BIS officer arrived at 9:01am and contacted a WM wearing a blue jacket, denim jeans and tan gloves walking a small black and white terrier. The officer recognized this male from a previous contact and the male does live in the area. Male did not appear to be intoxicated or on drugs but was talking in unintelligible sentences about his dog and the neighborhood. Male stated he would go back and apologize about yelling but was advised to just go on his way. Male left with no further problems. The member was contacted, and the officer cleared the area at 9:14 am.

 

3/7…9:18am…Zone 1…Mesa Ave: The BIS officer observed a suspicious vehicle in a member’s driveway that did not belong there. Gray Hyundai Sonata with CO plates occupied by a WM wearing a suit. Male was contacted and stated he pulled over to write a thank you card before going to a meeting in the area.  Officer waited until the WM left the property. 

 

3/7…2:28pm…Zone 2…Red Wing Terrace: Report from a member about solicitors going door to door in the area placing door tags who were described as two Hispanic males with backpacks. The BIS officer arrived at 2:40 pm and contacted the two HM’s 20-30 years old wearing tan jackets. Both were contacted and advised not to enter BIS member’s/private property. The BIS officer answered a few questions they had about private property and they left the area with no problems. The member was contacted, and the officer cleared the area at 2:42 pm.

 

3/8…Nothing reported.

 

3/9…7:03pm…Zone 6…Cheyenne Mtn Blvd: Received a call from Advanced Alarm Company about an alarm at a BIS member’s property. The BIS officer arrived at 7:17pm. The alarm was not audible from the outside and all doors and windows were secure. No sign of forced entry. Advanced Alarm was called back and noted that everything was secure. Officer cleared area at 7:24pm.

 

3/10…7:13pm…Zone 8…Crossland Road: Received a call from a member about two individuals walking around the exterior of a house that is for sale and unoccupied. The BIS officer arrived at 7:16 pm and noticed that there were no vehicles on the street or parked in front of the house. Exterior doors and windows were checked and all secure.  No sign of forced entry and no individuals around the property. The officer spoke with the reporting party in person and cleared the area at 7:25pm.
