Officer Notes 3/25/24 to 3/31/24

3/26…8:57am…Zone 6…Star Ranch Road and Nevada: While out on patrol, BIS Officer observed a homeless male walk out of the storm drain/drainage ditch. The individual was a WM wearing a black ski mask, tan jacket, and black pants. Male was seen looking into windows of two parked vehicles that were in the parking lot of the business park. Upon seeing the patrol vehicle, the male quickly walked back into the drainage ditch and was seen exiting on the east side of Rt 115/Nevada. Last seen walking east on Cheyenne Meadows. The officer then investigated the drainage ditch and spotted a homeless camp under the underpass of Rt 115/Nevada.  The officer then reported the homeless camp to CSPD’s Homeless Outreach Team.  The homeless camp was removed since it was not seen during subsequent patrols. 

 

3/26…12:55pm…Zone 5…Loma Linda Drive: BIS Officer observe a possibly suspicious vehicle in a member’s driveway when the members were out of town. The vehicle was a blue Chevy Tahoe with CO plates. BIS officer attempted contact to the home residence by the home phone number, but no one answered. Upon knocking on the front door, a female in her 30’s dressed in purple came to the door. Female would not open the door and could not be heard clearly through the door. When asked who she was, or if she knew the owner's name and address of the home, the female began yelling that the Officer was “harassing her” and then stated “Yes, I’m robbing the house.” Officer proceeded to call CSPD, but moments later the residence owner/member called stating the female was allowed to be there.  CSPD call cancelled. Cleared at 1:05pm.

 

3/26…7:20pm…Zone 9…Marland Road South: Received a call from a member about the alarm sounding at the member's house. Unknown location within the house where the alarm was activated or the type of alarm.  The officer arrived at 7:30pm and noticed that the alarm was not audible. A perimeter search was conducted. All doors and windows were secure, no sign of attempted entry. No vehicles or individuals in the area. The owner was called back and advised that the house is secure. Cleared at 7:45pm.

 

3/27…3:47pm…Zone 6..Broadmoor Valley Road and Clubhouse Drive: Received a call from a member of a suspicious male wearing a green t-shirt, thin build, carrying a few bags, walking north on Broadmoor Valley Road. Officer arrived in the area at 3:56pm, male was located just north of Clubhouse Drive. Officer observed HM carrying a large IKEA bag walking Eastbound on Broadmoor Valley Rd. Officer observed the HM for a several minutes. No evidence of impairment or need for assistance. Male was gone from the area at 4:05 pm. Cleared at 4:07pm.

 

3/27…6:25pm…Zone 5…El Encanto Drive: Received a call from a member of two juveniles with backpacks who entered the property, ringing the doorbell and immediately leaving the property. The member watched them ringing doorbells of other houses in the neighborhood.  The BIS officer arrived in the area at 6:37pm, area checked with no contact, no other calls received. Officer cleared at 6:45 pm. Member called back and informed BIS the two individuals were putting notes on doors for advertising purposes.

 

3/28…3:22pm…Zone 6…Broadmoor Valley Road: BIS Officer received a motion sensor alarm call from a member’s house. Officer arrived at 3:28pm, no vehicles or people observed upon arrival. Perimeter checked, exterior doors and windows all secure, no sign of entry made to the house. Nothing inside that Officer could observe appeared out of place. The member was called back and advised all was well. Cleared at 3:35pm.

 

3/29…12:00pm…Zone 8…Cheyenne Mtn Blvd: BIS Officer received an alarm call at a residence coming from a hallway motion sensor. Officer arrived at 12:03pm. Perimeter check completed - all doors and windows secure. Dog was seen running around inside the house. The member was contacted and advised everything was secure. Cleared 12:15 pm.

 

3/31: Nothing reported.

 

3/31…2:22am…Zone 4…Sycamore Street: During patrol, BIS Officer observed an older model silver Honda CRV with dark tinted windows, occupied at least individual, turn from Old Broadmoor Road onto Sycamore Street. The driver hesitated before pulling onto Cypress Lane after seeing the patrol vehicle.

Officer circled around and came back to the location and found the same vehicle now parked on Cypress Lane at Sycamore Street. The driver sped off, last seen east on Old Broadmoor Road passing Woodburn.

Unable to see the plate number on the vehicle since the license plate light was not working. Checked the area on Cypress Lane, nothing unusual seen or noted. Vehicle description logged and shared with all Officers for future reference or observation.

 

3/31…7:38pm…Zone 8…Marland Road: BIS Officer observed an older model BMW sedan with CO plates and a HM, 20’s/30’s, with a thin mustache and goatee, video recording some deer in the area with his phone. When finished with his video, he drove down a member’s marked private driveway. The BIS officer followed his car and the HM was contacted by the officer as he started to drive towards the garage located behind the house. Male stated he did not see the private driveway sign and thought this was a way out. Was told to leave the property. The officer followed him off the property and was last seen on Marland Road driving towards Broadmoor Elementary. Logged driver, vehicle description and information and shared with all officers for future reference and possible observation. No further contact made.

 

3/31…8:04pm…Zone 4…Strickler Road: Large bear and a yearling cub ran across the roadway going west through member’s properties towards Gardner Place.
