3/18…3:08pm…Zone 7…Lake Ave/6th street: Suspicious individual was observed by an officer. The individual was a WM 30s wearing a black jacket, grey pants and a blue hat. Male was walking west on Lake Ave who then pressed the crosswalk button at 6th street and proceeded to hop up and down. Male continued walking west on Lake Ave. Never seen in the area before.
3/19…12:38pm…Zone 4…Elm Circle: Received a report from a member of a suspicious male walking east on Elm Circle towards the wooded area at the end of the street. Male described as a WM with brown hair, wearing a green jacket and a colorful scarf. BIS officer arrived in the area at 12:44pm, checked numerous streets in the area with no contact and was not able to locate the male. No other calls received. Reporting member was contacted.
3/20…8:51am…Zone 6…Broadmoor Valley Road: Deer vs car traffic accident. The officer came upon a grey VW SUV with CO plates and a grey Subaru Forester stopped in the lane of traffic with hazard lights on. The VW had hit a deer with the front of their vehicle. Officer moved the deer to the side of the road and had the vehicles pull onto a side street out of the traffic lane. The driver of the VW had already called CSPD. BIS officer called CSPD as well. CSPD call taker stated they would call city streets to remove the deer. Clear 9:04 am.
3/20…11:10am…Zone 1…Mesa Ave/Second Street: BIS officer received a call from a member of a suspicious individual. Male was described as a WM with facial hair carrying a cup. Reporting party stated the male “looked out of place”. Officer arrived in the area at 11:13am and the streets were checked from First street to Fourth street, Mesa Ave, Elm Ave and Maple Ave with no contact. Unable to locate the male. RP was called back, and no other call received. Clear 11:23am.
3/20…1:13pm…Zone 4…Gardner Place: Officer received an alarm call for a member’s residence. Alarm was from a sliding glass door. The officer arrived at 1:18pm, alarm was audible, officer began checking the exterior doors and windows. The glass sliding door was secure but the metal gate in front of the door was moving back and forth with the wind. Contacted the owner by phone and spoke with a male at the front door who was a caretaker for the owner. No evidence of any attempted break in or damage. The alarm was reset. Clear at 1:33pm.
3/20…4:45pm…Zone 7…Broadmoor Ave: Received a call from a member about an individual walking east on Broadmoor Ave going door to door. No description was given. The BIS officer made contact at 5:12 pm with a WM mid 20s wearing a white t-shirt and grey shorts placing business cards for a window cleaning service. The officer determined individual was a legitimate business and cautioned the individual to not trespass or approach residences with BIS Member or No Soliciting signs. Cleared 5:20 pm.
3/21…3:08pm…Zone 7…Hunter’s Lane: Received a call from Cheyenne Mtn School District security about a male in a vehicle attempting to coax a woman into his vehicle. Vehicle described as a red Buick Enclave with Hawaii plates. No description of the male or female. Officer checked the streets in zones 5 and 7 but was not able to locate the vehicle. No other calls received. Clear at 3:40pm.
3/21…3:45pm…Zone 8…Pourtales Road: Received a call from a member about an abandoned trailer parked on the street in front of a non-member’s house nearby. Reporting party stated the trailer had been parked for over 14 days without moving and was blocking visibility. Officer arrived at 3:50 pm, trailer had temp tags from Kentucky/Georgia which expire 04/30/24. Contacted a worker at the non-member’s house, stated the trailer belonged to the homeowner. No contact made with the owner. BIS officer left a message on the doorbell camera of the non-member’s residence. Officer then called CSPD code enforcement and reported the trailer. The reporting member was called back and informed of Officer’s actions. Clear at 4:09pm.
3/22…3:32pm…Zone 5…Sequoyah Road: Received a call from a member about a suspicious vehicle. The officer arrived at 3:45 pm and found a black Ford older model 2 door sedan with CO plates that was unoccupied. A WM 5’8” tall wearing a reflective orange vest, ball cap with “Solar” printed on it carrying a clip board came to the car stating it belonged to him. Stated he was soliciting in the neighborhood. No problems, spoke with him for a few minutes, he knows not to enter onto properties with no soliciting signs and BIS signs. Cleared at 3:52pm.
3/23…7:07pm…Zone 4..Strickler Road/Lake Ave: Received two calls from members about 2 homeless males with a large amount of camping gear, one wearing a black ski mask. Seen standing on the southwest corner of the road. The BIS officer arrived in the area at 7:12pm and saw the two males walking east on Lake Ave on the south side of the road. Both WM’s appeared to be in their 40s/50s, one wearing tan pants with a grey jacket over his head and covering his backpack. Other male was wearing all black, both had very large hiking backpacks. Officer drove by the males as they were walking south onto the on ramp for southbound highway 115, no contact made. Both members were called back and advised the males were leaving the area, assured them the officer would keep an eye out for them throughout the night. Clear at 7:33pm.
