Officer Notes 12/11/23 to 12/17/23

12/11…8:40 am…Zone 4…Old Broadmoor Road/Lake Ave…BIS Officer observed a WM wearing a reflective vest, grey camo beanie and tan boots riding a bike. After seeing the patrol vehicle, the male rode off quickly going west on Lake Ave looking over his shoulder watching the BIS Officer and patrol car. Approximately 10 minutes later the BIS Officer received another call from a member about this male with same description looking inside mailboxes and walking in yards at 4th Street and Berthe Circle. BIS Officer arrived in the area at 8:56 am, drove around the area, unable to locate the subject again, cleared the area at 9:05 am. Officer monitored area throughout the day and passed on the information to the Officers on later shifts. No other reports and no further contact with the suspicious male took place however.

12/12…10:56 am…Zone 7...2nd Street and Lake Ave…BIS Officer received a call of two suspicious individuals walking up to doors of residences in the area. Officer arrived in area at approximately 11:00 am. Suspicious individuals were described as a WM wearing a black hoodie and a WF wearing a brown jacket walking two dogs. BIS officer arrived in the area at 11:01 am. Contacted the male in the driveway of a house on Broadmoor Ave and the female was at Broadmoor Ave and 2nd Street.  When BIS Officer asked what they were doing they said they were passing out business cards for a carpentry company. BIS officer was shown the business cards and after a brief investigation determined everything was above board. Reporting party was called back and informed of what the two were doing.  BIS officer cleared at 11:09 am.

12/13…Zone 8…Marland Road South…Received a report from a member of two WM’s removing copper gutters from the house without permission. When confronted by the home owner they dropped the gutter and ran away. No further description of the males or any vehicle involved. Information was shared with CSPD.

12/16…7:10 am…Zone 8…Pourtales Road…BIS member called and stated a suspicious person was in their backyard and walking towards the front yard. Person was described as a WM, late 30’s, 5’8” tall, wearing camo pants and a tan jacket. BIS Officer responded and made contact with the male at 2nd Street and Broadmoor Ave. Male stated he was lost and had been with a group of people that had bedded down in the area last night. Male appeared cold and disoriented. BIS Officer asked if he wanted medical attention to which he stated he did. BIS Officer called Broadmoor Fire Dept but was advised that they were doing shift change and would respond when they could. Male declined to wait and walked on 2nd street towards Lake Ave. BIS Officer monitored male until he left the Broadmoor area. No other calls received.

12/16…9:10 pm…Zone 8…Crossland Road…BIS Officer received a call of a suspicious vehicle driving in and out of the driveway of an empty house/up for sale in the neighborhood. BIS officer arrived at 9:13 pm and contacted a BM and HF in their 40s in a silver SUV with CO plates parked near the front door. Both stated they had looked at this house several times during the day and were just out for a drive and “house dreaming”. BIS Officer informed them they needed to leave the property. Neither person, nor the vehicle had been seen in the area before. BIS Officer monitored area for a time after breaking contact with the two parties. They were not in the area when the officer drove by again at 9:57 pm.
