9:59 am, Zone. Broadmoor Valley Road. A BIS Officer was flagged down by a female stating that “a crazy guy is shooting his gun at people." CSPD officers that were already in the area at the BIS Officer's request to handle a homeless person needing intervention and were advised of the active shooter by the BIS Officer. The BIS Officer then discovered a white Mercedes sedan crashed into some trees on Regency Drive, where it was reported by witnesses that a white male wearing all black exited the vehicle and fired 6-8 gunshots.

The armed suspect was reported to be last seen running east across Broadmoor Valley Road. All information was communicated to CSPD by the BIS Officer. CSPD brought in additional Officers in a widespread search of the area for the suspect. The BIS officer blocked northbound traffic on Broadmoor Valley Road while CSPD conducted the search. A "Stay In Place" order was communicated during the search for the male suspect and was finally lifted at 10:44 am once the male suspect was found and placed into custody by CSPD. Investigation of the incident and traffic crash were conducted by CSPD.
