8/27…6:15am…Zone 7…Lake Ave: BIS member called stating he found a male sleeping in his backyard. No further description provided. BIS officer arrived at 6:17am but the unidentified male was gone. The BIS Officer checked several streets in the area but was unable to locate anyone. Cleared the call at 6:25am.
8/27…8:58am…Zone 1…Pine Grove Ave: Received a call from a non-member reporting that his 2007 silver Toyota Tacoma with CO plates had been stolen from in front of a residence he was visiting. Vehicle was parked with the keys inside. He was advised to report the theft to the Colorado Springs Police Department as well. No suspect description. Vehicle information posted for all BIS Officers to be on the lookout. Cleared call at 9:15am.

8/29…3:30pm…Zone 2…Fourth Street and Polo Drive: BIS member called to report a suspicious WM wearing a black hoodie and black shorts that had approached the member and asked if the church was open. The member also reported a tan van parked on the south side of the church that had been “parked there for weeks”. The BIS officer arrived at 3:34pm, recognizing the van that has been observed parked at the church every couple of days. Typically parked at the church around 12pm and gone from the area the next morning. Unable to observe a license plate number on the van (obscured). Occupied by 1 WF. No contact with van or WF was made. No related suspicious activity. Officer also checked Polo Drive, Polo Pony Drive, Elm Ave, 2nd 3rd and 4th streets for the suspicious male. Unable to locate him in the area, no other calls received. Cleared at 3:39pm.

8/31…12:18pm…Zone 4…Gardner Place: Received a voicemail from a BIS member regarding a suspicious person in the area. Described as an older WM with grey hair, wearing grey pants and a darker colored shirt. The BIS officer arrived at 1:12pm checking several streets but was unable to locate the suspicious person in the area. No other calls received. Cleared call at 1:25pm.
8/31…9:27pm…Zone 3…Bear Paw Lane: Received a voicemail from a non-member on the BIS office phone about a suspicious male ringing their doorbell and looking into houses. Male was described as a WM 30/40’s wearing a shirt and a ballcap. Calling party did not think he was homeless due to his appearance and stated that the suspicious male left quickly on Bear Paw Lane after their dog began barking. The BIS checked the area and was not able to locate the suspicious male. Two units from CSPD arrived in the area at 10:57pm, checking the area of Bear Paw Lane as well. No one matching the description seen in the area
8/31…11:05pm…Zone 3…Bear Paw Lane: While handling the above listed call, the BIS Officer contacted a WM, age 40’s/50’s, with a white Ford work truck/panel truck and a flatbed trailer loaded with home furnishings next to a BIS member’s residence. Male gave his name when asked and stated he was moving into the basement apartment. Male did not appear nervous and knew names of several members in the area. BIS officer contacted another BIS member on the contact list for the homeowner and verified the male by name and that he was indeed renting the basement apartment. Cleared all at 11:42pm.
