12/28 – 2:58 am | Zone 8 – Northgate Road

A BIS Officer received a call from Advanced Alarm Company regarding an alarm activation at a member’s residence. The alarm had been triggered at the west sunroom screen door. The Advanced Alarm operator advised that they had contacted an authorized person listed for the residence, who confirmed the member was not at home.

The BIS Officer arrived at 3:01 am and observed two vehicles parked near the garage. Upon checking the vehicles, the Officer noted both were cold to the touch, indicating they had been parked for over an hour. While conducting an exterior check of the residence, the Officer observed the homeowner inside the house.

After speaking with the member at the front door, the Officer and member inspected the sunroom screen door and discovered that the window screen had been blown loose by the wind. Advanced Alarm was contacted and advised that everything was secure, with no signs of foul play or attempted unauthorized entry.

Call cleared at 3:30 am.

12/28 – 9:40 pm | Zone 1 – Pine Grove Avenue

While on patrol, a BIS Officer received a call from a member regarding suspicious activity at a relative’s residence on Pine Grove Avenue. The Officer was aware that numerous BIS members reside in the immediate area.

The member reported that their relative believed someone had opened and then forcefully closed the front door. The home’s Ring doorbell camera was not functioning, so no video footage was available. The member requested an Officer response, and advised that the member’s spouse was also responding to the residence.

The BIS Officer arrived at 9:46 pm and observed no suspicious vehicles or individuals in the area. The Officer met with the reporting member’s spouse and conducted a cursory interior and exterior check of the residence. It was determined that all individuals inside the home were authorized to be there.

The Officer noted no footprints in the snow around the residence or in the area leading toward the creek bed behind the house. The Officer then checked Pine Grove Avenue, Cheyenne Road, and Mesa Avenue in an attempt to locate any suspicious persons or vehicles. None were found. No other calls of a similar nature were received by BIS.

Call cleared at 10:19 pm.
